Wow. This is a big boy from Rodney Strong. There is a caramel/coffee bean element to both the nose and the palette. Definitely the strongest Rodney offering. Wowzers. Pair this bad boy with short ribs or bolognese. Any dish that isn't rich, and this wine will make it its bitch. Good stuff.

Loads of dark fruit: plums and currants. Some anise. A touch heavy handed with the oak IMO but hopefully it will balance out with some time.

Nice Cab. Restrained but still fruity with good tannin and not overly oaky, which is a problem I sometimes have with RS wines

2014. Sonoma cabernet is just a different cat. Meow! And a friendly one at that. Lean, clean, and just a teensy bit green. This wine runs up to meet you. Not aloof, no pretension, no delusions of grandeur. None of the all-too-common Napa experience of all hat, no cattle. Balanced, concentrated, and inviting. Warning: drinks way too easily. Good acid. Has a few more years in it for sure.

Very nice Cabernet. Rich dark color. Blackberry and plum flavors. Hint of Tobacco and spices. Lovely tannins with a smooth finish.
