Last bottle of my 2018 SC.

Followed over two days. Juicy, ripe and balanced. Astounding value at $30. Haven’t found the signature TRB blood orange profile in these RM SCs, but that’s a small nitpick. Loads of red and black berry fruit upfront, boysenberry, red currant and dark florals. Mid palate was much better on day two as it bulked up and showed the nervy side of SC Pinot. It has a high toned/elegant profile while retaining weight. Stylistically it sits in between RRV and cool climate SC. Banging value, as always. Drink now or in the next 3-5yrs.

TRB hit the nail on the head with "concentrated pomegranate/orange oil." Beautiful, savory finish. One of my favorites.

Showing dark ruby. Ton of structure. Overpowered by tannin on first open. Will revisit rating in a few hours.

Recently released (3/24), the 2022 Sonoma Coast Pinot from Rivers Marie has loads of potential and a great price point. Medium dark, dusky purple. BlackBerry and underbrush in the nose. Light in its feet, rich, a bit of berries and cream, solid backbone of tannin to let resolve.

Beautiful purity of fruit here. Certainly can tell it’s Pinot from a warmer climate but doesn’t feel heavy or cloying.

Darker, richer profile…aromatics and palate at stage where recommend holding…consensus was needs more time

Tons of fruit, resolved tannins, nothing really exciting. Good weekday bottle.
