Nearly opaque reddish purple hue. Raspberry, black cherry, leather, violets, and baking spices evident on the nose. On the palate its bold with a darker fruit profile offering impressive depth and concentration yet with nice balance and 14.1% alcohol. Long, somewhat spicy finish. Really nice value in California Pinot at $36.

10 years on and just a Sonoma Cty appellation but this 07 is singing. Would guess it was half it’s age.

Citrus, cranberry, berry bramble, earthiness. Good stuff.

Fresh and lively. Enters with dense fruit that is well framed by acidity and carries through to the pure red fruited finish. With air time the spice flavors develop and there is a little bit of a fresh asphalt note that is delicious.

I was going to say what a great early drinker this is and then I looked at my previous note and I said it all! These are so tasty, the only downside of this wine is that there is never enough.

Yum. Young. better aromatics over time. Rose perfume. Cherry/Strawberry licorice.

The 2016s just came in so I had to rip one open. This might be the best SC ever and that is saying a lot. It’s certainly the best one for early drinking as it was singing with only a splash decant. A return to dark fruits, cedar, orange peel. The life of the party.

With the 2016 arriving soon I decided to polish off the last 2015. It’s true that this vintage was not as generous on the PnP as years past, but on day 2 it’s absolutely everything you expect from this bottling. Killer good for the price as always.

Always a winner. The 15 is even bigger than previous vintages and at this early stage it drinks best on day 2.

As predicted I was gifted gorgeous aromas of rose petal, cherry, mineral, and a faint green/herbal note. Scent geek stuff. Drinks a smooth cherry/raspberry/rhubarb, good acidity, and a nice finish. Consistently one of the best QPR wines in the cellar.
