The nose takes some coaxing, gradually revealing very Chenin-like aromas of orange marmalade, beeswax, lemon verbena, lavender and white pepper.
The palate is beautifully poised, with an elegant and saturated character but tremendous power in reserve. This wine has a wonderful energy to it, with youthful acidity carrying through to a medium length finish. Really this is too young now, but I’d love to try even in two years - even more so in ten.

Delicious. So juicy and nuanced. There’s so much concentration! The barrel fermentation is perfect in my opinion. There’s a little bit of intentional reduction and there are some popcorn aromas as well. On the palate a rich rush of lemon pie, lemon tart, pineapple, and quince fills your mouth. #cheninblanc#verdelho#viognier#coastalregion#southafrica 13.5% alcohol and perfect. I hate critics that judge a wine by the alcohol on thelabel.
