Touriga Nacional

2011 vintage. 100% Touriga Nacional from 12 years old vines. Aged in French barriques for 18 months. Dark red with only a little evolution. Holding back in the nose with timid blackberries violet impressions. Powerful wine with a black fruit a bit monolithic, packed with ripe tannin, while remaining very fresh. Long spicy finish. Might deserve a higher score with more bottle age.

Kicking off anniversary weekend with wine we brought back from Portugal

These keep getting better. Was a little musty on pop and pour, but day two it’s all deep, lush, dark fruit with a long prune-y finish.

Love these Portuguese wines! 2011 was an amazing vintage and this wine does not disappoint! Lush Black fruit, clove, fennel, and charcoal. Highly recommend.

Power, tannins strong. Lots of fruit!

Ripe fruit. Big. Very big. Give his a couple more years and it will punch you in the face like Mike Tyson prior to the ra— nvm.

Big rustic beast with plenty of tannic bite and fleshy dark fruit.

The 2009 was a nice surprise. Well balanced and smooth.

Tannins still need time.

Deep brick red wine, garnet rim, big bright cherry on the nose, big blackberry, blueberry, wet earth, slate, spice, black pepper on the palate.. huge, high tannin. Very interesting. Medium acid, big full body, very complex, intellectual wine. Mushroom on the palate. No evidence of oak.
