Polished super Tuscan. No jagged edges, black fruits including black currants, blackberries & cassis both on nose & palate, probably spurred by the Cab Sauvignon. Quite substantial mouthfeel but not out of balance, & earthy, almost chalky finish so it’s Italian soul comes through. Preceded an Argentine Asado cooked by (Argentine) friends- imagine it would fit right in w the smoky, salty meats

Though from Tuscany, this reminds me more of a Montepulciano d’Abruzzo than anything else. (I think there’s Montepulciano in it, though I don’t know how much.) Highly extracted, the nose is smoky and earthy/minerally, with dark berries in the background. On the palate it’s got low-toned flavors of tree bark and sandstone, with dark berries again in the background. Tannins are prominent but relatively in check and not astringent. Not a bad wine, but not a style I seek out. (Don’t you hate it when they stick someone’s rating on the label?)

Deep Ruby with aromas of dark fruits, herbs and toasty spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry and raspberry with smoky oak and savory spice. Medium finish ending with fruit, spice and oak.

15.5/20 (88/100)

Pretty tasty, lots of oak that needs to harmonize into the wine. Will be better in 3-5 years i think.

Nice Italian 4 grape blend. Medium ruby color with aromas of ripe red fruits and hints of herbs. The palate brings fruit forward with sour cherry, cacao and leather. Tannins are firm with high acidity noted. The finish is medium, smooth and ends with spicy espresso notes. Consistent year to year quality.
