Sitting for lunch in the heart of the city of Bolgheri, at a great restaurant, I had to try something I never had before. This entry level Bordeaux blend was a nice surprise.

Purple in color with a purplish rim.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with nice complexity.

Showing blueberries, plums, black currants, cherries, light oak, spices, light earth, herbs, tobacco leaf, dark chocolates, licorice and a touch of vanilla.

Tangy finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.

This young Bordeaux blend from Tuscany is already drinking nicely, even right out of the bottle. Spicy and rich.

Opulent with lots of fruits, but also some earth notes to compliment the fruits.

Tannins show up after 30 minutes of airtime. A great nose shows itself after 90 minutes in the decanter. Much better once it opens up, so be patient.

Will continue to age nicely in the next 5 to 10 years.

Good by itself as a sipping wine, or with food. Tangy, spicy and entertaining. I paired it with beef stew.

A blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot and 15% Petit Verdot. Aged in oak barrels for 14 months.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

91 points.

$30.

A more than adequate Cabernet blend from Bolgheri drinking well at a young age. Cassis and a little mocha - dry tannins. Consumed in the famous old restaurant of Grassilli in the foodie city of Bologna. The walls covered with photos and etchings of famous opera singers. Great food, limited wine list.

Plum, cocoa powder, black currant, wild herbs, cedar, structure. Nose is intoxicating. A very refined version of Bordeaux from Italy. Amazing.

2010 vintage. Drinking beautifully now, but no hurry to drink this. Black fruit with hints of violet and subtle herbs. Very ripe fruit and slightly severe tannic structure, like a California cab and a left-bank Bordeaux meeting halfway. Very good acidity.Great value.

Polished, deep dark juice. Mocha and blueberries. Well structured, big but pretty. Lots of finesse. Kiwi and red currants on the finish. Just getting better and better. This stuff is dynamite.

This wine definitely needs a few years to soften the firm tannins. An impressively structured wine that has clear pedigree. Complex and evolving through its long finish. definitely recommended

For a wine so young, this opens up quite well. Dark plum, blackberry and bitter dark chocolate. Ripe, modern and polished.

2014 pre-arrival. Will be an impressive wine as all fruit from Superiere is used. No Superiere in 2014. Ultra black fruit right now that shows real life and freshness with a firm punch of tannin. Blackberry, plum, mocha with good balance
