Winery located in Alba, the Piedmont region was founded by its namesake in 1881. Great Grandson, Pio Boffa, continues the tradition of innovative wine making. Ruby with dried red fruit aromas and herb scents. On the palate ripe cherry & raspberry, cinnamon, toasty nuts, licorice and herb notes. Full soft tannins bring fruit to lingering finish ending with earthy mineral. Wonderful!

Enjoyable now in a youthfull, firm way. Barbaresco's traditional feminity can be seen here when compared side by side to the firmer, more masculine Barolo. #piocesare

mineral, tannic but not dry, some tar but enough fruit and soft elements. At $28 a competitive grab. After two hours, like Nebbiolo normally, it softened and kept its nose.

One of my favorite dishes in NYC was the duck breast at Locanda Vini e Olii in Brooklyn. Recreated the Duck Breast at home w this. Pretty good.
