Smells like 18! Concentrated and macerated dark cherries. Just so many. Almost jammy but not quite. Some nice leather notes. So much material. Super sleek, refined and concentrated. Bursting with mid to late season cherry fruit and wonderful sap and purity. Showing so well. A big wine but super balanced. Pierrick did a great job in 2018.

Aug 31st, 2023Terrific showing. Nose is stunning and expressive. Dried and fresh roses. Black and red cherry. Divinely pure. Palate is lacey and ethereal with sweet black cherry fruit and tremendous sweet fruit in the tannins and on the finish. Soft, precise, sweet and intense like only Volnay can be. Opulent yet chiseled. Awesome balance and purity. Almost a 9.5.

Jan 22nd, 2023Such an awesome wine. The low yields make this just a sexy beast. Super floral nose. Like rose petals. So vivid. Mid season cherry. Super concentrated, sappy and so deep but with also an intense deep minerality. This can age for a decade more. Wow. Just spectacular.

Oct 19th, 2021Unreal nose. Ethereal haunting perfume. Cherries, sopping cherries, minerals, cherry liquer, so so detailed and vivid. Superb lift. Palate is so balanced and pure with early season cherry fruit. Clean, elegant and so poised. Elegant and ripe tannins and such wonderful up front fruit and drinkability for a young Bouley. Long. Gorgeous wine.

Really Volnay and really ethereal. Kirsch really comes out after some air. Palate is stunning. Wow. So deep and chewy. Insane concentration and power with insane sap and purity. Wow. Big furry tannins and some grip on the finish. This will age gloriously. What raw materials these wines have. Long finish echos on the palates

3 days to come into effect...purple plum hue on the rim, lovely clove notes rising. Faintest bit of flint on the nose. Really pretty stuff.
