Slathered in North Fork funk. Low tannin. Stewed fruit. Lots of melting rubber and worn vehicle brakes.

After 12 years this old beauty still has a lot of life and character. Showing no signs of fading. Let it breath a little and it will show its complex tastes.

I really like Cabernet Francs, probably more than most people. Yes, they can be a bit thin and the complexity isn't always there...but there is something about their weird, earthy funkiness that I enjoy. This is a pretty good example of North Fork wine.

Mint heavy on the nose, and maybe tobacco? Green cab franc, but in a balanced way. Not a ton of fruit.

The often-sharp edges of a younger Cabernet Franc have been softened by time, and yet, this wine still has solid structure. Smooth and delicious. It was INCREDIBLE with a salt-and-pepper crusted, grilled ribeye steak, roasted fingerling potatoes, and broccoli with garlic and slivered Serrano chilies.
