This was surprising. Inexpensive, readily available, and...pretty darned good. Decent acid, and that made the dark fruit flavor noticeable, but not overwhelming. Nice licorice hit at the "back end". — 9 years ago

Seriously underrated. This is a nice example of what a Merlot CAN be. Much like what became the "Anything But Chardonnay" movement, Merlot was relegated to much the same caste. Open this, let it breathe, and you will be pleasantly surprised. — 9 years ago

The often-sharp edges of a younger Cabernet Franc have been softened by time, and yet, this wine still has solid structure. Smooth and delicious. It was INCREDIBLE with a salt-and-pepper crusted, grilled ribeye steak, roasted fingerling potatoes, and broccoli with garlic and slivered Serrano chilies. — 9 years ago

...and this is also important to those of us who live here on the North Fork of Long Island...THIS WINE IS NOT FROM THE HAMPTONS. Pellegrini Vineyards and Winery sits proudly in Cutchogue, New York.

Unbelievably good Cabernet Franc. Fantastic aromas of tomato leaf and roasted red peppers...done in the true Italian style. If you think you know Cab Franc, get to know THIS one. — 10 years ago

Do yourself a favor...if you have the opportunity to visit the North Fork of Long Island, go to the Winemaker's Studio on Peconic Lane in Peconic, New York, and purchase this wine. While you are there, try everything in Anthony Nappa's arsenal, as well as the other fine wines offered at the Studio. You won't be disappointed.

We are so pleased to welcome Horton Norton back to our table. This was a young, 2014 Norton, and given about 30 minutes to open up, it really was lovely. Fruit up front, gorgeous color, plum and tart cherry flavor. Wow. Was AMAZING with a beef and butternut squash stew. — 9 years ago

We have a 2005 Pellegrini Petit Verdot waiting in our cellar...we had a moment of weakness and attacked this 2011. With some time to "open up", this became...oh, my...oh, my my myyyyyyyyyyy. You need a bottle of this. Now. Cannot wait to see what the '05 will be like. — 9 years ago
