An old favorite that I could afford back in grad school, so how is it today? Dense purple, highly extracted. Mint, briar, black currant notes in nose, plus a touch of butter and barrel smoke. Medium tannins in mouth with mint, cherry and black currant flavors with length soon after opening. Medium body. Needs time to open. Citric aftertaste with a hint of dried fruit or prune. Reminds me of a bottle-aged Spanish or Portuguese red. Not fresh or fruit-forward, so not a style for everyone. Decant two hours plus or better, age it a few years. Paired well with fruit bar cookies (Hermits) of all things

Love the color on this wine. Leather and tame spices followed by red berries on the nose. Dark and concentrated flavors of blue fruit, cedar, and spice. Beautiful wine

Grilled lamb rib chops, roasted potatoes, green beans, roasted beet salad. How to finish? 2005 Pedroncelli Petite Sirah. A thing of great beauty.

Extremely full bodied with a deep purple color. Ripe black plum and blackberry aromas. Blue and black fruit flavors with notes of vanilla, dark chocolate and spices. Tannins are not overwhelming. Long finish. Solid.

Holy! Unreal. Not too big, but wow, what a wine. Fantastic. Raving over this.
