Ripe, checking in at 14.5%, but not hot. Tannins firm but smooth. Cherries and dusty earth, violets. Elegant

@Delectable Wine - This is the Passorosso Etna Rosso DOC, not the Terre Siciliane.

Nose is complex, with a tiny bit of barnyard, loads of smoky rock minerality, and rich cherry fruit. Chiseled in the mouth, with equal parts cherry fruit and intense stoniness, bone dry, with very good acidity. Tenaciously clings to the palate as some soft but vigorous tannins show up in the finish. Really fine.

Killler....herbal cherry licorice bookending intense mineral core. Volcanic, acid, water-weight body. Another amazing warm weather red, a little chill.

More robust than most Etna Rossi. Slow sipping and thoroughly enjoyable.

Andrea Franchetti’s flagship red, Passorosso is made with 100% Nerello Mascalese from various contrade (crus): Malpasso, Guardiola, Santo Spirito, Favazza and Arcuria, at different elevations and soils. Aged in large neutral oak barrels and bottled unfiltered. Bright, pure, red fruit on the nose. Quite powerful and ripe. Red fruit and hints of blood orange

Acceptable Etna Rosso but thin and sour. Just not as good as Terre Nere or Girolamo Russo in this category. The nose is excellent and fragrant, but the palette is just not there.

Excellent! Went well with our over ordering of pizza one last time before the looming lock down in NJ.
Black fruit, charcoal, tobacco, and violet. Silky smooth tannins. If you like burgundy or grenache type wines, then try any of the etna reds.

Very modern and clean, shows no Etna character.
