Last night we opened the 2018 Paolo Scavino Barolo Enrico Scavino.
On the nose there was raspberry, cherry, strawberry, plum, anise, roses, herbs, clay pots and dusty earth.
On the palate we had beautiful notes of raspberry, cherry, plum, strawberry, anise, cedar, herbs and earth.
This wine is medium bodied brightly on the sweet side and smooth medium + acidity and medium + fine smooth mouthcoating tannins that leads to a medium+ to long red fruit dusty earth finish. Medium Ruby with aromas of red fruits, floral and new leather notes, fruit sources from several vineyard sites. On the palate flavors of cherry and plum fruits with tobacco and pepper spice. Firm chewy tannins, savory on a medium+ finish ending with notes of oak, mineral and earthy character. Drinking well now, good value.

Cocoa, brown sugar, cherry, and tabacco. Light to medium color and palate. Elegant. Somewhat sharp finish will probably smooth out with a few years. Loved it.
