Popped decanted and poured at Prezza in the North End in Boston. Dark ruby and broodingly opaque. Nose of tea, rose petals, bright currant fruit and a little anise. In the mouth its watery at first with acidity and a little tannin. After an hour in the glass this firmed up and the structure was evident. Nicely balanced fruit to go with a long finish. Great aromatics. Nice showing. Good now and probably gets a little better with more age.

This has great notes by the pros. We found it over the top extraction, too alcoholic and unbalanced. Dry tanins from excessive new oak diet. No thank you.

Delicious 1999 tonight. Surprisingly, this still showed primary fruit and tannin. It was still mellowing but after 3hrs in an open bottle and a swirled glass it was amazing.
