Aslina Cabernet Sauvignon

Dark inky purple.
Nose offers purple/black fruits, a hint of violet/floral aromas.
Palate is medium/full bodied, dry, structured tannin with a dusky, fruity character as opposed to mineral or oak derived tannin. Reads more like bitter plum skins.
Echo of floral notes in the finish.

I miss sipping in Tuscany, but this is a nice cabernet sauvignon from an interesting maker

I haven’t had a new world cab Sauvignon in ages. This maker gets some press as she is working in a former apartheid state, but really this wine deserves kudos: most of all contains tension & a wirey ness that belies its cab Sauvignon credentials. Serious chocolate notes. Drink it on cold room temp side & you will be happy. Good wet winter night wine.

Deep ruby in color; cassis, graphite, and black plum on the nose; high acidity; high tannins; tastes like black cherries, boysenberries (I think), red bell pepper, and crushed gravel with a long finish.

After decanting for a little over an hour, I get baking spices, blackberries, and black plums on the nose; the tannins and acidity are still there, but a little more balanced; it tastes the same, but it is definitely better after the decant. I love this wine and how tart it is, but I know it's not for everyone. Nellie likes it with steak.

Aromas of green bell pepper, soft cassis, spice.
Off-dry. Flavors of cassis, vanilla, cinnamon, black raspberry. Rich, velvety tannins. Green on the nose, fruit explosion on the palate.

100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Notes of green pepper and oak on the nose. Cherry flavors. Big, bold, a bit harsh

Lovely cab. Soft finish with ripe fruits and a of earthy tones.

Riper fruit. Good weekday wine. Def riper on the palate. Alcohol seems a tad higher. Solid South African.
