Fun wine from South Africa. Richer than I would have expected.

Apr 22nd, 2024Driven by gorgeous extraction, texture and phenolics. Tasting blind I’d be clueless. It starts with an extremely intense nose of compressed green apple skins, compressed green pear, super concentrated yet super fresh phenolics. Palate shows off the supreme texture, so viscous but not lingering, gets taken over by a phenolic bite and a lingering acid-driven finish. What an outstanding effort! (I found out post-tasting that is has new oak, unsurprising but so we’ll integrated that I missed it)
