T'Voetpad White Blend 2014

A wealth of distinct aromas - remember the perfume - Angel- popular in the early 2000’s? There is also popcorn, orange blossom, white roses, vanilla, nutmeg, yellow apple, Asian pear, and plenty more. It’s a field blend of Semillon, Semillon Gris, Palomino, Chenin, and Muscat. Big and powerful. Drink on a well rested brain. — 8 days ago

Treinspoor Swartland Tinta Barocca 2011

2011 is absolutely perfect for drinking in 2019, full of blue fruit, light tannins, and a long long aftertaste. Sensational tinta barroca. — 15 days ago

Grand Classique Paarl Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot 2005

Old, but ripe. Cherries and blackberries and a bit of mocca. No aging tones. No more tanine. It was worth keeping. — 9 days ago

I love this aperitif with seltzer or to add a touch of bitterness to the occasional white wine spritzer. An old family recipe with a bunch of herbs and aromatics. The label is shown under a different name on the app, but Badenhorst is where it’s at-if you haven’t tried their Chenin, you are missing out. — 4 days ago

Fusion V Stellenbosch Red Blend 2012

3.5 years since I have been back to this one. It seems to have condensed a bit, matured an lot. Said 4 to 5 years 3.5 years ago but probably should have said 12-15! This wine isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Blackberry, mulberry, clove and sweet plums, hint of chocolate and truffle. Bordering full bodied, this has a noteworthy rounded nature on the palate with a sweet toasted oak tannin that shows early and makes this one finish strong. Always impressed by these wines. — 15 days ago
