As pretty a little Chianti as I could wish for. Profile is mossy with some cigar, sweet tobacco, cherry, and purple plum. So balanced, understated and raw. Not a show stopper, but a wine that wins you over with its earthy charm and unabashed deliciousness. There’s nothing I would add or take away.
This bottle grew on me more and more until, sadly, it was gone. Paired perfectly with pasta puttanesca. Bravo!

Med concentration with a ruby core fading out to deep pink. A touch of brett on the nose with med intensity and med complexity. Cherry cough medicine, leather, licorice, herbs, almond skins, and underripe red fruit. Taught structure on the palate with med + acid and tannin and med abv. Med complexity and body. Nice but not sure it was quite worth the $40. Gave it 5 hours of bottle open air and that helped, but it ideally needs several more years to really come into its own. There is very nice fruit, and good acid - but the tannins are a bit chunky and unresolved at this point. One to wait on for sure.
