Meyer-Näkel
Blauschiefer Spätburgunder
I've hit the last 4 out of 5 weekly wine committees and it has been a treat every time. This week, @Jeff Meyer hosted and schooled everyone on how good German wines can be!
My favorite red of the day. Mimicked #1 in that I got a lot of new world/RRV characteristics to it. Cedar, cola, Bing cherry notes. Thought possibly Oregon. Very Burgundian, but with a more fruit forward palate. Excellent.

Oh yeah! Basically gives the finger to Burgundy! Incredible!

Feb 27th, 2013Nice Pinot Noir if the fruity variety. Overly acidic in the finish, but still an enjoyable fruity wine to be drunk chilled with comfort food or pre-dinner.
