2012. Big berry/raspberry/strawberry, cola, twizzler, medium tannins, Bit of earth, mushroom, nice acid and a finish of forest floor. Really pretty. Had with thanksgiving, now with salmon.

I was semi-taken aback by this wine. Great aromatics right off the bat...crushed potpourri, ripe black cherries, licorice and some cedar. Still showing nice acidity at 7yrs young. What I found interesting was, based on the aromatics and front palate (ripe red and black fruits, plum and peppercorn spice), I expected the mid-palate to be more rich/flavor packed. Seemed a touch hollow. Finish turned to the savory side with herbal spice, and more underbrush/cedar. I have always enjoyed the ME Klopp Ranch Pinot (and SauvBlanc) but I’d have to try this again to see if my notes were consistent.

Weird bottle. Was at first closed- almost no nose and a rancid/dried flavor. Somewhere between oxidized and corked. After two hours (thought might as well try), the nose did blossom into a Pinot-like bouquet. Palate had notes of cherry cola and anise.
