Blackberries, red currant jam, cherries, fresh leather, graphite, green stems, cedar, a touch of hot cinnamon and ground cinnamon. There’s energy and balance in the wine however seems shy and not much length.

Sensual aromas lead in, and then this is so bright on the palate. Over time florals emerge- and glycerine, almost verging on soapy. Dark, transparent and ultramarine fruit. Not too acidic, but bright and lively nonetheless. Cali Cab that you could pair with sushi.

Medium plus bodied. Herbaceous and slightly leaner of Napa Cab. Red fruits and tobacco. Great balance.

Dark Ruby with aromas of ripe berry fruits, herbs and earthy spice, On the palate black cherry, raspberry and black currant flavors with espresso, mocha and earthy notes. Well balanced, lively acidity, fine ripe tannins long ending with fruit, cedar and herb pepper spice! Nice!

In Magnum, 13.1% abv, red berries / a bit lacking structure.

Red fruit driven - 13.3% - neutral oak doesn’t fully resolve the tannins

First bottle since Saturday night’s bacchanal in tony West Des Moines (I still have 20+ wines to post)....it may be a combo of a great wine with low etoh and depriving myself for too long but this was just tremendous tonight. Formidable backbone and oozing balance, restraint and ripe red fruit. Floral dried cherry and pound cake.

The nose reveals, bright red and dark ripe, floral fruits. Blackberries, dark cherries, blackberries, black plum, sweet tarry notes, black licorice, vanilla, steeped black tea, funky earthiness, dark berry cola, dry crushed rock powder and dark red florals and violets.

The body is medium with tannins that are teethy, tarry and a little meaty. Ripe, floral; blackberries, dark cherries, blackberries and black plum. Sweet tarry notes, black licorice, vanilla, steeped black tea, funky earthiness, dark berry cola, dry crushed rock powder, grainy volcanic minerals, rich black earth, dark red florals with violets. The acidity bright & lively. The finish is leaner than in most Napa Cabernets, well balanced, fresh and nicely polished.

Photos of, their Estate property, our tasting, barrels not rocked by the 14 earthquake and another on of their Napa vineyards.

Raise your hand if you can remember the last Napa Cab you had that was 13.2%ABV or under. So nice for a change of pace wine like this from @Steve Matthiasson .

As a ‘12, I was still fairly shocked at the youth-fullness of this. Very dry and chalky up front. Dark chocolate. The nose was very dominant of muddled raspberries, tar, almost ripe blackberries. Really opened after an hour or so...a bit more floral, but also more plum, raspberries and a very herbal and mineral focused finish. Very enjoyable. Nice,
@Mark Flesher !
