Pian delle Vigne Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese

Delicate Sangiovese. Some red fruit but loads of tar and leather.Amazing with pork ragu and polenta after five hours of decanting. Tasty but not complex. Has time but isn’t getting better.

Very classic Sangiovese. Nice and elegant..

From a restaurant list in Positano. Deep reddish purple color. Nice nose. Notes of black fruit, raspberries, some wood, and a little menthol. Nice texture in the mouth. Not over the top nor tannic. Nice enough to order a second bottle of it.

Dark ruby coloration. Medium translucency. On the nose, cherry, plum, florals, spice, sweet tobacco and earth. On the palate, medium to full body, cherry, plum, spice, leather, earth/dust and minerals, with a long finish of chocolate and raspberry/sweet red berry. Good chewy tannins. Nice complexity and depth.

Fresh. Slightly bold.

Delicate balanced fruit and tannins. Took some time to open up but was worth the decant and wait

Less body than I anticipated, maybe needs a few more years. Good black cherry notes and acidity.

Had the 2013 last Sunday with rib eye steak. A very smooth wine

Love it! Nice balance of fruit. Delicious accompaniment to cheese, charcuterie, and pasta.

Dinner wine with the team.
