The 2022 Chianti Classico Pèppoli, the entry-level offering from Antinori, is a fine introduction to the year that shows just how compelling this vintage can be. Bright, floral and beautifully lifted, the 2022 is all class. The understated, refreshing style is so compelling. $21.00 (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, September 2024)

Nice Chianti Classico. Perfect with Italian food, as expected.

An Old World wine. I found the 2011 not as smooth as the 2009 but improves as it breathes. Not complex but at this price point does it have to be. Definite taste of tannins. A wine to have with meals.

Such a serviceable wine. Leather, spice cupboard, cherry, dutch liquorice, rosemary and slight florals. Palate doesn't set the world alight but drunk alongside some pizza and you'd be kicking goals

Not extremely complex, but still a good chianti. Slight hint of oak, cherry and plum.
