The 2021 Morgon Côte du Py Cuvée Camille offers a mixture of red and black fruit. This is interwoven with wonderful mineralité and tension. The palate is medium-bodied with finely-chiseled tannins. Very saline and certainly extremely precise, blessed with a poised and tensile finish. You can feel the tension in this nascent Morgon. (Neal Martin, Vinous, May 2023)

Ruby red with slightly blue tone. Ripe banana, blueberry, pickled ginger (how strange), pomegranate, red cherry, licorice, med to med plus tannin, med acidity. Fall flat at the end.

Crazy effusive nose, full of irises and red fruit and earth and and and. Gets even better on the palate with Burgundian levels of complexity welded to Beaujolais crunchiness on top of rocks on top of rocks. Even with all that, this wine just begs to be *drunk*, not fetishized. And it was. Good thing it was a magnum.

Lapierre Morgon "Camille". Wow. Just wow. Genius wine. First true single vineyard Cote de Py and true single vineyard wine from Lapierre. STUNNING. Insane nose of vibrant berries, spice, smoke and oodles of granite. Wow. Just so fragrant and super fresh. Dazzlingly pure nose. Almost, dare I say, Chambolle-like. I cannot stop smelling it as it keeps opening and opening. Crazy nose. It's a 9.5 on aroma alone. The palate is just a miracle of silky, finesse driven, elegant (Chambolle?) crunchy, suave pure tiny red berry fruits. So fresh. Just cracking. So deep. God this is good. Amazingly long and detailed finish. One of the best Lapierre wines I've ever had.

A special wine on a special day. Maybe the best Beaujolais wine I have ever had, but I will reserve that official judgement for a day when I am not sensorily handicapped. The aroma enraptures the nose with a perfume of red berries, subtle spice and a profusion of mineral and rocks. The palate works like a lense of transparency of flavor tthat changes focus in layers, revealing different nuances and degrees of flavor, acidity and tannin.
