A special wine on a special day. Maybe the best Beaujolais wine I have ever had, but I will reserve that official judgement for a day when I am not sensorily handicapped. The aroma enraptures the nose with a perfume of red berries, subtle spice and a profusion of mineral and rocks. The palate works like a lense of transparency of flavor tthat changes focus in layers, revealing different nuances and degrees of flavor, acidity and tannin. A really special wine! #lapierre #gamay #birthyear for #camille #happybirthday #terroir — 9 years ago

25/7 - Visited #Chalon dan la Rue (street art) this week end, then we went to a #Lapierre #Morgon #2011. Not the best of vintages... But like all wines with the minimal interaction, natural, or sincere as. #Dobianchi called them once in an posting, they don't understand much of a "bad" vintage. Time after time the "bad" vintages of such producers always come around nicely in 3, 4 or 5 years later. So did this one, earthy, elegant, layers of floral & red berry fruit as far as the acidity.... SEXY. btw all the drinking was done moving from one stage to another and even that it was amazing — 9 years ago

After the hype from Somm2 and good feedback from wine biz buds, my verdict is this is a very, very good Beaujolais Cru. I definitely recommend you try it if you are into Burgundy or esp Cru Bojo. My wife guessed Burgundy blind when I poured it for her. Like ripe red raspberry and bing Cherry, with a dash of roasted herbs smeared on a granite rock...yeah, literally that. The aroma is a perfume of red fruits caught in a tug of war with a granite rock-like minerality and roasted herbs and forest floor. The palate is dead sexy, juicy and sappy fruit and acidity, with a perfect balance and elegance that feels weightless. Thanks for the enlightenment @Jason Wise and @Brian McClintic! Now I can add #dutraive to my faves from #beaujolais like #lapierre #thivin #foillard #sunier #thevenet — 9 years ago
