Classic Lapierre Morton. One of my faves. 2019 needs some more time. Stay tuned in a few months for a more expressive gamay. — a month ago

I just could not get my hands off this Red Mountain single vineyard Syrah.
The delicious ripe black fruit core is still pretty much intact while it continues to complexity and nuances. Rich and delicate at the same time on the palate. The bottle is hitting its strike right now.

I pulled this out of the cellar a couple of weeks ago and never got around to drinking it. Lazy thing that I am, rather than look up which shelf it belonged on, I just left it in the box on the floor in the basement, but tonight I needed a wine to go with dinner and there it was calling out.... “Driiiiink Meeeeeee.” So now I’m swimming in a blissful little pond of strawberry and cranberry tinged with dried herbs and the light woody bitterness of juniper. There’s a lovely savory note that lingers in the finish with gauzy wispy tannins that you don’t notice unless you’re really paying attention. Great acidity, and just a lovely presence. I love this wine and will always sell it. Not many people share my passion for this wine. Still, I’ll always sell it. An unreal nose of raspberry spice cake that is so good. Heavenly. Big time herbs de Provence. Clay. Graphite as well. This is 60% Mourvèdre, 25% Syrah and 15% Grenache. Mint. Lurid black and red berry. This is my favorite southern Rhone wine and it is not close. This is my southern Rhone DRC. Impossibly complex and captivating nose. You cannot stop smelling it. Oh my god. Mercury must be in retrograde tonight as all wines showing sick. Holy elegance. Just so elegant. This is 15%! You would not know. Amazing purity. Such clarity. For people interested this is natural wine as Marcel Richaud is as important to natural wine as Lapierre or Chauvet. This is his piece de resistance. Best one I’ve had since 2010. I cannot believe how juicy and elegant this is. It glides. So so so so good. — a month ago
