Had this at a restaurant, pre COVID. Medium Ruby with nose of fruit and big earthy spice. Palate shows ripe strawberry and cherry, ok balance, tasting a bit old. Soft tannins, medium finish ending with wet earthy mineral. Getting past it’s prime, still enjoyable but drink up now!

Jun 16th, 2020Found this hidden gem at a restaurant. Medium Ruby with pleasant nose of fruit and earthy spice. Palate shows ripe strawberry and cherry. Well balanced tasting great. Nice soft tannins, medium+ finish ending with earthy mineral. Very enjoyable.

A very subtle wine. Morello cherry, cracked dark stones, and a feral animal note. Intense and linear, with focused, high-toned flavors. Really nice.

More modern producer. More intensity and color that your traditional Valtellina. Chiavennasca benefits quite nicely from the barrique, however I still prefer the traditional producers
