Mt. Carmel Vineyard Chardonnay

The 2021 Chardonnay Mt. Carmel Vineyard is fabulous. All of the pedigree of this south-facing site comes through in a rich, layered, beautifully resonant Chardonnay endowed with tremendous distinction. Lemon confit, orchard fruit, mint, spice, graphite and hazelnut all grace this dramatic Chardonnay. Readers will find a Chardonnay of undeniable class, elegance and personality. Stunning. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, September 2023)

Honestly, maybe I got an off bottle because the only thing I could taste here is apple juice. From the open apple juice. Give it a couple of hours, apple juice. Give it a day and then try it again, apple juice! You’re really just was Flabby and not structured. I’m really thinking I might’ve gotten an off bottle because everybody else seems to be raving about it.

2021 vintage. Extended, tropical endowments with reduced weight/body = concentration. Light/medium body. Extremely well-made and gorgeous with a zesty, deliciously lean, finish. Resto cost less than $90 but more than $80 a bottle. California Chard not moving the needle currently but this example proves it should. 01.15.25.

Okay Chardonnay. Green apple and clean finish. Perhaps a little past its prime at this time. Okay for $45 but nothing special and I would expect better at that price.

Nose: biscuits and crème, honey, vanilla. Palate: honey, peach, apricot, salty biscuit. Good complexity and intensity, moderate finish. Transitioning to tertiary notes. More expressive day two. Tarte au citron.

Intense aromatics with Sauvignon-leaning nuances. Bright tense and pulsating with pure energy, the 2014 is a wine of considerable potential. Scents of orchard fruit and white flowers add further complexity, but above all else, the 2014 is a wine to look forward to for overall precision and balance. 13% EtOH

Maybe the "new" greatest Chardonnay from Santa Rita hills. Don't miss this one! #renegadewines
