Monier de La Sizeranne Hermitage Syrah

Savory, black pepper. Tart. Fully mature. Delicious!

Wow. So aromatic - red fruit, earth and graphite. Very savory and quite grippy, with an iron, blood and mineral blanket still covering the foxy, wild berry, currant-y fruit underneath. Super structured and focused. Serious, dark and brooding. Not quite there but close. Very cool wine.

So much life left!

Shoulda just lit a stack of 20s on fire. Probably would have smelled better.

Misseur Sizeranne.

A bit thin with very subdued aromatics. Likely passed peak but pleasant.

This Syrah had really mellowed but has developed lots of interesting secondary flavors from aging. Fantastic pairing with grilled lamb.

Pretty amazing for a '96. Not big but real nice.

Hasn't held up great. Bottle is ever so slightly corked. All the primary fruit is gone and the rest is a muddled mess.
