Kistler is simply not great until you give it this much time and more.

Loads of; cranberries, pomegranate, strawberries, cherries, steeped fruit tea, toast, top soil, dry rock powder, saline, bright, mid florals, excellent acidity with great; balance, tension, structure and ruby polished finish for a full minute and half.

Ruby color with aromas of red fruits, forest floor and cedar spice. On the palate flavors of cherry and raspberry with cedar notes, black pepper, cinnamon spice and earthy herbs. Full-bodied, fine tannins, long finish ending with fruit, oak and a spicy earthy character,

Can’t say these guys don’t know what they’re doing. Hugely perfumed, red roses and a sweet pinot fruit aroma leading to a brambly herbal finish that’s satisfying if just a touch sweet at the moment.

Beautiful with six or so years in bottle...even better was the recent grab at $50.

Wine candy with cinnamon stick, nutmeg, dark spice, mixed darker fruit cola, some anise to black licorice, dark earth with dry top soil framed in a bright floral bouquet.

Medium purplish red. A bit stemmy on the nose with some raw branches, raspberries, strawberries and hint of minerality. Medium plus acidity and great tannins (6/10) with a medium body. Very dry and coated with red berries, a bit vegetal and gravel. Long finish. Drink till 2028.

Exudes class and purity. Bright, clean and simply layered and lifted red cherry fruit, with some strawberry and stem on the nose. Nice!

Great new world Pinot. Quick decant at the restaurant to give it some air and warm it up slightly and it was good to go. The nose was very aromatic with cranberry, cherries, earth and dried herbs. Palate was rich for a Pinot, with flavors of raspberry and plum. Strong acidity on the finish.

After a hard decant and 30 minutes this started to show beautifully. Raspberry and rhubarb. New oak is well integrated.
