Ken Wright Cellars
Savoya Vineyard Pinot Noir
Willamette Valley, Oregon, USA

Mature nose gives off a lot of earthy, moist underbrushy notes, along with some dark cherry scents. There’s a fair amount of VA noticeable, but not so much as to detract too much. Soft and earthy in the mouth, with mushroomy notes competing with mid-ripe cherry fruit. Some tannin is present in the finish, but it’s very soft and fine-grained. It’s very “Oregon” in its lilting mouthfeel and decidedly unstructured nature.

This Pinot Noir from Oregon has such a beautiful nose.
Medium bodied with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with nice complexity and a soft mouthfeel.
Showing red fruits with wood, earth, light vegetables, tobacco, coffee and black pepper.
Elegant and fruit forward with a tangy finish.
Much better after 4 hours of airtime (in the bottle).
I gave it a light chill and paired it with a charcuterie board of meats and cheeses.
13.5% alcohol by volume.
92 points.

From one of KW’s 13 different vineyards, Ruby with delicate brrry aromas and some spice. On the palate cherry and raspberry flavors with cola tones and mineral spice. Fine soft tannins, well balanced, lingering ending with a slight earthy feel. Very nice!

This is right in the sweet spot, really singing with fresh fruit character. Best bottle I’ve had in a while.
