K Vintners
Powerline Estate Syrah
Needs some decanting time, but once it opens up, another outstanding vintage of this wine. Fruit is from the Walla Walla AVA. Violets and cooked red fruits on the nose. Those same cooked red fruits on the pallet, as well as notes of tobacco, beef jerky, herbs and graphite. Enormous potential! Revisited in June 2020. Notes above still apply. Still needs a decant, but once it opens up.....WOW! Revisited again in July 2021. Now getting big notes of dark chocolate on the finish. Getting better with age. Revisited again in April 2022. Additional aromas of bacon and some added black licorice and black olives on the pallet. Continuing to evolve.

Aug 11th, 2022Intense extract of cocoa, dry plum and dark cherry edged in spice reminiscent of chai. Lingering finish for more then a minute. Did it have more layers of complexity it be a top score in my book.
