Nose has dried cranberry, ripe cherry, red currant jelly, dried roses and old oak bark

Palate has dried tart cherry, dried cranberries, chalk dust, over-ripe strawberry with medium, but fine tannins. Doing quite well tonight; Slow oxidation for 2H then decanted 3H.

Pre-birthday dinner for our dear COVID bubble friend; we've only allowed one of our close friends into the house for almost the past year, tonight we're celebrating that he's one year older than me. 😉

Medium concentration with a crimson center and light violet rim. Slow to get started but evolved nicely. Med intensity on the nose with med + complexity. Roasted orange peel, spices, flowers, and ripe red compact fruit. The palate was less complex and age has really loosened the wine up. Soft tannins, present alcohol, and fine acid. Velvety comes to mind. Length was med. #josephdrouhin #volnay #pinotnoir #burgundy #cotedebeaune #premiercru #ctbucklinwine

Still very young. Lasting acidity, tannic and slightly reduced.

Really good with a 2 hour decant. Lovely cherry fruit. Nice mouthfeel. A bit of iron towards the finish. Blind, I would have guessed Chambolle.
