Graacher Himmelreich Auslese Riesling

Mid lemon in colour. Aromatics of yellow peach and slate. Touch of smoke. Great palate intensity - not overly sweet for an Auslese - only 8% ABV. Jancis said “a floral explosion on the palate “ and I cannot disagree. I don’t drink a lot of sweet wine without dessert but this was most enjoyable - a great accompaniment to chicken liver pate with crackers. Acidity particularly at the first taste still very much present.

Bright and sweet. Light petrol and floral notes. Great

Lots of melon and wide open with major apricots. First of season apricots.

Perfectly mature auslese. Prum always seems to be bulletproof against even warm variable vintages.

Bubblegum, peach gummy, sweet & bitter crushed wet stone, lemon juice, acacia, white flowers, herbal too rosemary? Sweet tannic and phenolic. Long and harmoniously balanced.

Pretty. Wet stone, pear. Light. Very good

Unreal. Apple pie wine. No formal notes. So fresh. So pure. Great acids. Juicy. Concentrated and decadent. Awesome. Such a long finish

Of course this is wonderful BUT it really needs way more time. You just know it’s going to get way better.

Straw gold. Heavy. Fruity and petrol driven nose. Nice richness in the mouth. More fruit than acidity. Great with all the food. Still has its baby fat.
