Cepparello Estate Bottled Toscana Sangiovese
Tasted over 6 hours. Classic. One of the better Cepparello I have had, particularly with age. Classic Sangiovese with tart cherry, some plum, mint, and tertiary tobacco, with some floral and leather. Perfect acidity, mouthwatering, but the tannin could be a little more polished as they are a bit chewy and chalky at the moment. Med/med+ body, with a med+ finish. Very good and would buy more.

Jun 16th, 2024At dinner following our son’s wedding. No notes but I do recall this as being excellent as it always is. Obviously too young but the class was there and the table loved it.

Aug 29th, 2023Fully mature, dried fruit, leather, herbs, balsamic. Not over the hill but overlooking the precipice. Highly enjoyable with the bistecca fiorentina of a lifetime courtesy of chef Paolo

Apr 8th, 2023The 5th wine from the Downs Club Italian Dinner and from Magnum. Brief notes. 100% Sangiovese - dry, dusty cherry notes. Herbs and balsamic notes. Touch of liquorice. A long way to go. An authentic expression of Tuscan Sangiovese.

Jun 13th, 2021At the Toowoomba Wine Show Judges Dinner. No detailed notes. Normally a well performed Tuscan Cuvée but from the lesser 2014 vintage. Light to medium weight- lacking density and concentration.

Sep 28th, 2019Blew me away. Dry and pure with sweet oak tannins and a chocolate maraschino cherry core. Bordeaux-like perfume, elegance and grace. This will age well but not required if you have a decanter and an hour of restraint.

Jun 15th, 2019Formed in the 1950's when DeMarchi family purchased two vineyards in the heart of Chianti Classico region, combining them into one. Aromas of full ripe berry fruits with notes of savory spice and oak on this 100% Sangiovese. On the palate flavors of cherry and blackberry with tobacco and nutty spice. Fine tannins still needs time but approachable, lingering ending with earthy oak. Nice!
