Pretty unconvincing. I really can't figure out why this is sparkling, apart from to mask the lack of acidity. Overripe toffee apples on the nose and sherbet on the palate. Glaringly lacking in acidity, I would have guessed that this was a much older Austrian Neüberger (or a similarly weak varietal - Vidal fits this bill), if it we're served blind. How the price can possibly be justified is beyond me.

Deep burnt orange in color with a lighter orange cream mousse and tiny bubbles. Wonderful nose of dried apricots and honeysuckle. This is echoed on the rich (of course) palate. Lowish (medium minus) acidity — it’s Vidal after all — offset by the tingle of the bubbles. Stone fruity moderate finish. Hard to dislike any icewine, even if it’s Vidal, and the bubbles add a surprising element of fun to this one. A nice celebratory dessert wine to drink with your birthday cake or New Year’s pudding. Will likely lose some bubbles after a decade, but should satisfy through 2039 and beyond.

2003! Bubbles had almost completely disappeared, but wonderful concentration and complexity.

Such an interesting sensation. Bubbles in an ice wine. Makes it less syrupy and a bit more fun!

Open 8 months w/only 1/3 if btl left. Lost its bubbles, but not its deliciousness. #Ontario #Vidal #IceWine @InniskillinWine

Too sweet but not enough acidity. Sparkling is fun though.

Interesting buy at auction! Beautiful golden amber color. Bubbles mostly gone. Nose of rotting apple core, bread pudding. Oxidated. Palette very sweet but any remain bubbles balance it out a bit. Somewhat lacking in acid. Oxtidation shows through. Fun and unique but not a gem.
