To pair with roasted mushrooms and white truffle. Elegant and perfumed. Beautiful.

Brilliant! Balsamic, fig, tannins still present. 14.5% alcohol which you don’t feel as the wine is superbly balanced. Loved this

2016s are epic so far. Lazzairesco in Serralunga. Little more macho than the little sister Santa Caterina vineyard. Beautiful fruit, ripe cherry, classic liquorish, balsamic, rose or just smells beautifully of the Langhe. :)

From the lower part of the Lazzarito, a traditionally-produced Barolo from an under-the-radar winemaker. The ‘14 could appreciate 5-10 more years in bottle, but I’m impatient. Big leather and anise, with some herbal notes.... almost a “meaty” wine, but the florals come to dominate after some air. Should be perfect with your rich N. Italia foods. Looking forward to visiting this winery on our next Piemonte trip.

Classic Barolo, exuding heady aromatics of dark cherry, rose, licorice, and autumn leaf. A sip fills the mouth with vibrant fruit concentration while maintaining the licorice vibe and a lengthy mineral and cherry pit finish.
