Straightforward, but pure strawberry, citrus, licorice, and rock woven together with flowers. While simple, its posture is debonair. More than compelling for the price and a no-brainer at $13.

Great everyday Italian red. Can stand up to heavier pastas and pizza.

Dried fruit and stone on the nose. Really soft on the palate and a bit fruitier then one might think but still in incredible glass of wine.

Exceptionally mellow and smooth Nebbiolo dominant blend. Notes of sour cherry and raspberry with mild acidity but enough to provide some backbone. Paired well with penne, Italian sausage, and veg in a creamy tomato sauce and the spaghetti & meatballs. $17 @ Houston Wine Merchant. Addendum: After an hour of being opened, the acidity is more prominent. Positively mouthwatering. Love it.

Perfect weeknight Italian wine. Medium body. Nose of autumn foliage, cherry liqueur. Nice acidity, nearly a puckering finish. Lovely.

I love this Barolo. It's finely balanced with just enough tannin to give it weight on your palate. The aroma is intensely strong; on first whiff you may think you're smelling a heady cab. But the wine itself is lovely dark cherries and earthy spice and pepper. Had it with a cheese board and then I had it again with pizza. Delicious and paired well with both!
