The Russian River Valley has always been a favorite of mine and their pinot noir's have a soft place in my heart. The wine I have opened tonight is the 2018 Gary Farrell Russian River Valley Russian River Selection Pinot Noir.

On the nose there is wonderful notes of strawberry, cherry, cranberry, herbal notes, clove, vanilla, floral notes, some funk and dusty soil.

On the palate is very expressive red fruit, strawberry, cherry, cranberry, clove, nice herbal notes, hibiscus and dry soil.

This wine is medium bodied with clean fresh fruit mouthfeel, medium to medium+ acidity and very nice medium + soft fine tannins with a long juicy red fruit finish. This is a wonderful pinot noir and if you enjoy pinot noir this is one to have. The weekend has come upon us again and the weather here has finally opened up and looks like the 4th of July weekend is going to be a good one. Please stay safe and healthy and enjoy your holiday. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Would represent itself well in a blind tasting. Well balanced and tasty, but pricey. Wouldn’t mind a little less oak. 13.9% alc.

Dusty, earthy nose and gorgeous fresh fruit on the palate. Beauty.

Enjoyed perhaps a bit earlier than I should've but that's par for the course with my eager drinking style. Classic RRV PN, a bit lighter than I'm used to. Fricken good with my BBQ chicken and zucchini. Tart red fruit cola sass for days with an herbaceous earthy edge...

Opening and balancing out since tasting at release. Great nose. It's all about the nose. Still tight on the palette.
