This puts a smile on the face. A perfect bottle- rich plum fruit with a punch of wild strawberry in the midpalate, garrigue, a tiny hint of licorice. The palate is lush with glycerin feel. Soft, composed and balanced. Intense and long. A real wow bottle.

The extra wine in the vertical tasting.... unexpectidly alive. Whiffs of cherries are still there, toast, hazelnut, coffee and chocolate truffels. a bit drying from the aged acids. nutty bitters.

My glass of the day. Can't get much closer to perfection. Cerisse, roze, cocao, cinamon, leather and some yoghurt. Soft smooth tanine. fresh acids. Everything that needs to be there is there. No aging flaws what so ever. Perhaps the 1983 has a bit more nose, but the flavour is here the match winner.

Great glas. Cherries, nougat, ceder, leather, mint and sage only appear when the wine has had enough air to get ride of the stable start. But after quite some time the wine really opens up. The tanines are a bit dry in the mounth. Some agresive acidity makes for a less than perfect finish. But very close.

Did not live up to its expectations...problem is what are the expectations build on?
Hints of rozes in the nose, caramel lavas and mint. Sort of an agresive acidity.

Tantalizing color in the glas. Nose gives away that it is an old wine. But in contrast to the 1987 there is more fruit enjoy. Tasts lighter build. Hints of roses thru the tabacco and leather. enjoyable almond bitter. Fresh acids.

Cleary an older wine with all the elements of aged wine. But still with some coffee tones, lavas herbs (maggi, soup) mushroom fragrances. Dry to the mouth.
