Patience rewarded with this bottle - lovely dark floral aromas, figs, blackberries, ripe red cherry (Sangiovese-like), balsamic, oregano, dark chocolate, smoked meat, oiled leather, scorched earth. Tannins are integrated and are in balance with fruit and acid on the palate. Lovely, complex bottle, enjoyed with Alex’s porchetta.

Intense, powerful and masculine; inky black to the core. Brooding black fruit, tar, scorched earth and meat juices integrate well with a long finish of iron ore and blood. Not a wine for the timid; wear your grown up pants for this one!!!

Black fruit, pepper, graphite. Game, cured meat. Heavy on the palate. Acid and fruit feels like it develops / opens late. Some dark roast coffee notes.

It needed a couple days to open up but when it did. Earth, bay leaf, spice, red currant. With hints of smoke.
