Gamma Etna Bianco Carricante
The 2020 Etna Bianco Gamma is more savory than sweet, with a mineral-inflected blend of crushed rocks, young peach and lemon oil. It's round yet takes on a crunchy feel. Tart orchard fruits and citrus tones collide over a core of zesty acidity. This leaves a tropical floral flourish along with saline minerals as the mouth is left watering and nectarine hints slowly fade. (Eric Guido, Vinous, September 2023)

A perfect example of a low alcohol (12%) wine that can pack a punch. A variety of citrus scents that transition effortlessly to the palate. Mandarin orange, grapefruit, lemon all draped in a robe of saline and smoke. To top it off, an extended and lingering finish.

Aug 10th, 2021Dusty yellow flowers, smoke, crushed stone, nectarine and hints of hazelnut lift up from the 2018 Etna Bianco Gamma, creating a deeply alluring display. It’s soft and textural, balancing ripe orchard fruits against hints of sour green citrus and salty mineral tones. Notes of young mango and peach linger, along with a subtle buzz of residual acidity, all under a pretty air of inner florals. This highly enjoyable Carricante is showing beautifully already, but it should also excel for a number of years in a cold cellar. (Eric Guido, Vinous, June 2021)

This is lovely. Bright and dynamic with really good balancing minerality. Perhaps lacks a little depth to be truly outstanding but a lovely wine.

I love Etna Bianco. This might be the best I’ve ever tasted.

Jul 2nd, 2024Pale straw. Beautiful aroma of citrus (lemon), white flowers, white pepper/ginger and yellow pear. In the mouth is medium plus and shows beautiful balance and tension and minerality. With time in the glass some herbal and saline notes emerge and the finish acquires almost a honeysh profile. One of the most interesting carricantes I’ve tried from Etna.
