Modern style Barolo. Oak still present at first. Powerful aroma of dark cherry, tar, some smoke and leather. Very layered and texturally engaging. Long finish. Likely to last for several years. — 5 years ago
Drunk over two days. Dark red core, slightly cloudy. Powerful aroma of currant, blackberry, blueberry, and then earthy and tobacco notes. Full bodied and very silky. A beauty with plenty of life ahead. Didn’t notice major changes the second day other than the wine being more open. — 5 years ago
Notes of cherry, macerated strawberry, a touch of balsamic, smoke, incense and some noticeable leather. Very balanced in the mouth it is bold but not over the top. Very long finish. — 5 years ago
Pale straw. Beautiful aroma of citrus (lemon), white flowers, white pepper/ginger and yellow pear. In the mouth is medium plus and shows beautiful balance and tension and minerality. With time in the glass some herbal and saline notes emerge and the finish acquires almost a honeysh profile. One of the most interesting carricantes I’ve tried from Etna. — 5 years ago
It is a little heavy handed and uber extracted resulting in a unbalanced wine. While the nose is rich and complex with notes of overripe black fruit, vanilla, dark chocolate and some leather in the mouth the wine is powerful but with low acidity and not integrated tannins. Not a long finish. — 5 years ago
Light garnet with bricking rim. Crushed rock, herbal, black cherry, tar and some floral element break through the glass. In the mouth the Serralunga character shows in its power but it is well balanced by a great acidity. Finishes long. Really good. — 5 years ago
Gold/almost amber. Needed a good amount of air to get rid of initial fizz and even after that the wine had a strong reductive and yeasty aroma that made it difficult for me to detect other notes. Some hay, citrus and yellow fruit. Bracing acidity and medium body. Got slightly better as it warmed. Perhaps in a weird phase now or should have decanted way ahead of drinking. — 5 years ago
Dark red, explosive aroma of spices, dark cherry, crushed stone, violet and more. Pure silk in the mouth the wine shows power while being extremely elegant and balanced. Finishes long. — 5 years ago
PnP. Light yellow with greenish hue. Lime, lemon, white flowers and ginger. High acidity and good tension - a vertical wine. I understand this does a skin contact but I wasn’t able to detect that. Quite enjoyable and refreshing. — 5 years ago

Quite dark with no sign of bricking. The aroma is powerful with dark fruit, some notes of oak/wood, coffee, herbs and some meaty notes. Definitely full bodied. Tannins are still present but are nicely integrated. Supported by good acidity but finishes a bit hot for my taste. — 5 years ago
