Could be mistaken for quality Brunello. Menthol, red fruit, mushroom, forest floor. Superb.

We had the 2018 version of this a few days ago, and what a difference 23 years makes. “This one tastes like it’s already wine and cheese.” -@Jedd Flanscha 🤣
Dark, dried fruit wrapped in leather. Fruit’s waning, but still nice.

Sour cherry and burnt sage, leather and earth. Wow. Spellbinding. Beautiful spot right now.

Showing very well still, hitting that spot where the fruit is still fighting off the bottle age notes and an acidity that keeps it feeling fresh. Delicious.

Past its prime or maybe just subpar bottle. Purplish brown, balsamic, mushroom, fruit lacked freshness, maybe madeirized

Dry aged beef, dried flowers, muddled black cherry, and hints of licorice. Tannins still holding but softened, acid still keeping it incredibly drinkable. Everything that is great about Sangiovese can be found in this bottle. Drink now or in the next year, I think.
