Pretty wine - has structure and sweet red berries, with a brashy finish that carries. Picked up from @garagiste

2015 is stunning for a balance seldom found from the lively Sangiovese -one which could certainly bring out the best from just about any autumnal fare but go it alone as a glass by itself nicely.

Ahh... Chianti. Delicious and affordable. Cherries, cola, earth. Amazing value.

Dusty sour cherries and astringent mustard greens. Still like Chianti in a pre post ironic way

Classic! Showing some nice plushness. This wine overdelivers for the price. ‘15 C.Classicos are banging!

Cherry and violets on the nose, dry, with a lingering finish. Tart cherry, cola, chocolate, vanilla, and baking spices. Delish!

Light, hint of cherry and vanilla, with a peppery finish. Paired it with a fantastic Italian meal.

Wow... this disappointed me. I wasn’t too impressed with the 2013 either, but this one here strangely was a notch below. It wasn’t bad, it just didn’t have much to say. Honestly it was just bland and quite weak, both on the nose and on the palate. At just 13% alcohol, this one was perhaps the weakest Chianti I’ve ever had. Maybe flash decanting was a mistake. Maybe it couldn’t handle it. I do not get the high ratings from online critics. There are SO many other Chianti’s much better that gets lower ratings. Whatever it is, this one here missed the mark, no doubt in my mind. $12 at a restaurant, served chilled, sure, it’d be cool with it. Kerin O’Keefe gets it right on this one!
