Quite berry and butterscotch, brioche and quince. Some nice yeasty character but overall a bit heavy-handed with the oak and possibly the dosage.

Just released 2004 although not declared as vintage. Long lees aging really emphasizes the rich, Chardonnay based character and complemented by sweeter, Pinot fruit through the finish.

A rare walled, single vineyard offering from the Western edge of Champagne. The site dates from around 900, and the family has been growing here since the early 1600's. The Champagne is 75% Chardonnay & 25% Pinot Noir from 2002 & 1999. This current release is nutty, with high quality brioche aromas and flavors and a swelling finish. Too bad their is so little!

Easter dinner begins with this selection. Rich and mature, aromas of green apples intermixed with tropical fruits, finishes with toasty richness, aging well as the small bubbles are completely integrated into the golden liquid.

Great mousse. Brioche, citrus, a touch of spiciness. Great acidity. Nice long finish.

I love rich champagne but this was just too rich. Felt oxidative, which you wouldn't expect of a 75% chardonnay 2002/1999 blend champagne.

Beautifully balanced, just the right amount of yeast and acidity.
