Carbonic Grenache from the Northern Rhône. Talk about an internal personality conflict. But it’s a very nice wine to slug down with dinner. Hard cherry and kirsch fruit over some nice granitic minerals. Reminiscent of a nice Bojo. Lively in the mouth, and there, too, displaying a Bojo like character, but with a bit more peppery heat showing through in the back half of the palate.

I was expecting this to be weird (blend of Grenache and “white varieties” whatever that means) but it was clean, fruity, and had more tannins than I expected. (Still on the low end but they were there.)

Impossible to go wrong with Texier. Lovely fruit up front, but dissolves into beautiful earth the more time it’s in the glass. (Note Delectable calls this southern Rhône, but at least this vintage, the back of the bottle says it’s Grenache from the Northern Rhône).

Juicy and fresh, nice with a weeknight dinner. Not nearly so complex as other Texier offerings, but sometimes that's not what you're looking for, ya know?
