Killer nose. Loads of lemon/lime. Floral, super clean nose. Very nice. Less wild. Veg clean and pure. Juicy and pure. Apricot and juicy pears. Very elegant and not very “natural” which is a good thing! Lovely inner mouth aroma. 3-4 day skin contact.

Aug 22nd, 2022It gives me the distinct impression that E&M capture something like an essence that others cannot in the wine making process. Orange blossoms, creamsicle, muscat grapes aroma, clean a bit thin mid palate but long taste aided by slight tannin.

Mar 31st, 2021Light skin contact. Tasty and accessible. Peach, orange creamsicle, witbier. Great pairing with squash and fennel risotto

Sep 19th, 2020This was a tough one. Beautiful notes of apricot and peach and watermelon and florals, but it’s finish was spicy and the acid (when it decided to appear) felt out of balance. Perhaps it was too cold or didn’t get enough air. But considering i love this producer’s Pinot Noir, i was a bit frustrated that tie rosé didn’t take me to a similar happy place.

May 8th, 2018I really love this. Big surprise, have never had anything like it from Germany

5 people found it helpfulJul 20th, 2015As I was researching this wine, I saw that Crush Wine Co calls it a “gateway skin-contact wine” and I agree that’s the best way to describe it. It’s got very high acidity and a creamy texture but the flavors are very approachable: orange peel, ripe yellow apple, and white flowers. Btw I don’t think I’ve ever rated a wine for under $20 this high but for me this is really a stand-out.

Color is cloudy peach.
Nose has juiced tangerine, cut green apple, dried citrus peel, honey and mashed apricot.
Palate has zingy citric acid, under-ripe white peach, yellow plum, confectionery sugar over fresh grapefruit, intensely long finish.
Last bottle. Lots of sediment in this bottle when decanted carefully, yet still cloudy on the double decant for service this afternoon. The start of an epic E&M based afternoon plan as we sit by the chimnea on a beautiful early Spring day.

Hopefully as you Grau older you will become Weiss-er like this Burgunder #cheesytastingnotes
