Jun 16th, 2019Nice way to christen the countertop...
Luscious nose of cherry jam and cigar. Drum tight, dry mouthfeel. Not a pop-n-pour, but requires air and bottle age. Excellence in the making. Good fruit profile displaying black and red fruits, along with rose petals. Does not resemble a cab franc. A pure finish with clarity and precision.

(13.9% alcohol, with a pH of 3.5 and 7.2 grams per liter of acidity): Saturated bright, dark ruby. Knockout perfume of dark berries, black cherry and licorice lifted by a pungent chalkiness. Compellingly juicy and sharply delineated, with outstanding saline mineral lift giving this wine an almost magically light touch. Finishes with firm but suave tannins, serious energy and palate-staining floral length. This remarkably refined, weightless wine, made from 30-year-old vines and the saltiest of this set of single-vineyard Cabernet Francs, should evolve slowly and gracefully, and I would not be surprised if it ultimately merited an even higher score. (Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, July 2018)

Jul 25th, 2018Dark ruby hue. Exquisite bouquet of fruit, with aromas of blueberry, pepper, plum, saline, vanilla. Plus body, with plus tannins and plus acid. Superbly balanced and elegant, with a lengthy, memorable finish. Tannins are already well-integrated, but this is something to drink on special occasions. 85% Cabernet Franc, 15% Malbec.

1 person found it helpfulApr 21st, 2024How much I loved the 2013 when I drank it a year ago.....
This 2016 is at this moment as many of us are: In partial lockdown. Had it in decanter for 6 hours but the nose was completely blank. In the mouth there was something of some redfruit (fresh) but nothing really happening.
Will try the second half of the bottle in a few months and the other bottles.......? 2023?
