Duck Hunter
Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc
Pale lemon with aromas of ripe stone and tropical fruits with citrus and floral notes. On the palate fresh fruit flavors of grapefruit, pineapple, and melon with lemon citrus wrapped in lively acidity, medium+ length ending with lemon citrus texture. Nice!

Sep 26th, 2019This is NZ SauvBlanc with the edge taken off of it. The grassy nose is only slight, showing more herbs than cat pee. The sip is remarkably restrained as well, with trademark citrus sharing the stage with melon, cucumber and peach. The wine is not very tart, by SB standards, but it’s not sweet, either. It’s a Sauvignon Blanc for people who normally shy away from it.

Bought at Costco. Watered down. No strong flavors or smells. Drinkable. Little alcohol taste. Slightly dry tasting. Some lime smell.

Mar 27th, 2022Very cheezy critter label. Ducks with guns. Gossamer gold with a silver streak. Citrus, cap gun and wet rocks meet on the nose. Maybe lemongrass too. Flavors are tart, fresh and simple. Plenty of lime. A bit smoother than the most extreme NZ Sauv Blancs. It’s simple and works well with Thai food.

Dec 28th, 2021What you’d expect from a cheaper wine. sweeter than I’d expect, turned into a cooking wine.

Jun 21st, 2021Smells better than it tastes. Pear and vanilla on the nose. Very light yellow and clear in appearance. Doesn’t really taste like a NZ Sauvignon blanc. Really full bodied which makes it taste sweet. It doesn’t have much lemon, lime, or minerality that I love and expect. May pair better with food though
